FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK:
May is the month set aside to honor our Mothers and I would like to share with each one of you what I learn from the book of Proverbs 31: 14. King Salomon in his book try to symbolize the work and worth of a virtuous woman when he said: She is like the ships of the merchant, she bring her food from far away.
Dr. Fred J. Meldau in an article of the “Christian Victory” magazine, analyzed in a sevenfold way, this striking similarity of THE MERCHANT SHIP that describes a Christian mother.
1- Merchant Ships Must Have a Pilot - A true Christian mother has Jesus Christ as the Pilot of her heart and home.
2- Merchant Ships Are Guided by a Compass and the North Star - True Christian mothers guide their lives and homes by the Word of God.
3- Merchant Ships Bring Precious Cargo From Distant Lands - True Christian Mothers transfer the blessings of heaven to the lives around them.
4- Merchant Ships Endure Storms at Sea - True Christian mothers have divine protection when moral and spiritual storms threaten the welfare of her children.
5- Merchant Ships Are Ever Active, and Well-Stocked for Long Journeys - True Christian mothers are always on duty to cheer and comfort, exhort and encourage.
6- Merchant Ships Head for a Harbor to Unload Their Cargo - True Christian mothers seek to bring those around them into the Harbor of safety and security in Christ. They want their children to be prepared for the high seas of life.
7- Merchant Ships Keep Nothing for Themselves. What they carry is for others. Reaching their destination, their goods are unloaded for the benefit of others - True Christian mothers are unselfish and sacrificial, whose lives are spend for the enrich-ment of others, and who never fail to deliver the best of goods to those around them. Home, is ever a SWEET HOME to its inhabitant among all harassing circum-stances, when its queen is a woman after God’s own heart.
May God grant us more homes where mothers drink daily of the well of spirit-ual water, and who, by their devotion to Him bring a serenity into the home safe-guarding it thereby from breakdown between the heat and strain of modern life.
